Community Living Onstage

Community Living Players present ‘We Need A Little Christmas’ at The Playhouse

As winter chills begin to set in we are reminded that Christmas is just around the corner. This fall some very dedicated Morrisburg Community Living participants are working hard with Playhouse Theatre School Director Mary Ellen Viau at preparing a half-hour Christmas show that will be presented at Upper Canada Playhouse on Monday, December 17th at 1:00 pm. The group has been meeting at The Playhouse every Thursday morning to rehearse their lines and practice songs. Artistic Director Donnie Bowes has dropped into many of their rehearsals and invites everyone to take time out to enjoy this show and be swept away with Christmas spirit. ‘Mary Ellen’s work throughout the year with our Morrisburg Community Living clients is a wonderful thing’, commented Bowes. ‘It’s one of the most significant ways that The Playhouse connects with our community’. We Need A Little Christmas features a pageant with carols as well as a celebration of some of our most beloved Christmas traditions. Costumes and comedy, storytelling and lively songs are featured in this not to be missed presentation. Everyone is welcome and admission is free, so mark the date on your holiday calendars.

The Playhouse and Community Living Team Up

The Playhouse and Dundas County Community Living have initiated a joint project with the theatre’s Mary Ellen Viau conducting Thursday drama classes with Community Living’s clients. The program has continued during the Spring and will also meet throughout the summer and fall with a special Christmas show planned for December 17.
